the Ganesh Yourself experiment
Is it possible to simulate God? What if we could have a dialogue with God in real time through a machine? And what if God was hacked by people?
In 2014, the anthropologist Emmanuel Grimaud conducted the Ganesh Yourself experiment in the Bombay streets, giving the possibility to anybody either to be Ganesha or to consult him, through a teleoperated device designed by Zaven Paré. The experiment turned out to be a unique experience, metaphysical as well as political,
edefining what God is, what it is made for or what we could make of it. Ganesh Yourself was made into a film which was released on Arte (Rouge International, 2016).
